Thursday 25. Shays is at Wilbraham
another call for this Militia to go
to Southadley ---
Fryday 26. about 23'. Men go for
Southadley. was at Westhampton
news to Day that Shays near Night
last Night marched up near the
Baracks at Springfield and was fired
upon with Cannon upon which he
retreated in great disorder leaving
3. dead & 1 mortally wounded & also
died last Night.
Saturday 27. A Guard at old Mr Lyman
composed in part of Men from this
Town were taken in part. 9. Men
and 4. Slieghs were taken belonging
to Southampton.~~~
Sunday 28. in Morning hear Shays
marched last Night to Amherst and
Day to Northampton. in the afternoon
[???] 5. or 6. Slieghs taken at Mr
Clapps carring Provisions to the Mob
was brought to Claps. afterwards sent
to Springfield. at Sunset or before
Ludington with 100 of the Mob
came along which made comfusion
