Address to the People of Several Towns

At a meeting of the Several officers Commanding Compa
nies in the County of Hamsphire, in the present movement of the
People, for the Regulating of matters of Publick Concernment
Viz! it is noted and agreed that it is highly Necessary that the
Several Companies and Rigements in the sd County be Properly
Organised and officerd: Voted a Committee of Seventeen be
raised to see that the aforesaid Vote be put in affect; Voted Capt
Fisk of South Brimfield, Capt Colten of Long-medow for the first
Rigement- Capt Day of West Springfield, Capt Sacket of
Westfield for the 2d Regement- Capt Juel of Chesterfield,
Capt Brown of Whately, and Mr Samuel Mors of Worthenton
for the 3d Regement- Capt Shays of Pelham, Capt-
Joseph Hines of Greenwich Capt Billing of Amharse for
the 4th Rigement- Capt Foot of Greenfield, Capt Dinsmor
of Conway, Capt Clarck of Colereign, Capt Hill of Cherlemont
for the 5th Rigement- Capt Grover of Montague, and
Capt Powers of Shautsbury for the sixth Rigement-
Be the aforesd. Committee the County afore sd being assembld
Voted and chose Capt Powers Chairman then that each
member of the Committee be impowered and Directed to write
to the Several Towns in their respective regiments in the
Name of and Behalf of this Committee, Requesting them to meet
and Organise there Companies as soon as may be, and that being
done the members of Committees for the Several regiments
to Call together their officers of the Several Companies for the
Purpose of Orginising the regiments agreable to martial
order. Done in Committee at Pelham.
