Address to the People of Several Towns

At a meeting of the Several officers Commanding Compa
nies in the County of Hamsphire, in the present movement of the
People, for the Regulating of matters of Publick Concernment
Viz! it is noted and agreed that it is highly Necessary that the
Several Companies and Rigements in the s^d County be Properly
Organised and officer^d: Voted a Committee of Seventeen be
raised to see that the aforesaid Vote be put in affect; Voted Cap^t
Fisk of South Brimfield, Cap^t Colten of Long-medow for the first
Rigement- Cap^t Day of West Springfield, Cap^t Sacket of
Westfield for the 2^d Regement- Cap^t Juel of Chesterfield,
Cap^t Brown of Whately, and M^r Samuel Mors of Worthenton
for the 3^d Regement- Cap^t Shays of Pelham, Cap^t-
Joseph Hines of Greenwich Cap^t Billing of Amharse for
the 4^th Rigement- Cap^t Foot of Greenfield, Cap^t Dinsmor
of Conway, Cap^t Clarck of Colereign, Cap^t Hill of Cherlemont
for the 5^th Rigement- Cap^t Grover of Montague, and
Cap^t Powers of Shautsbury for the six^th Rigement-
Be the afores^d. Committee the County afore s^d being assembld
Voted and chose Cap^t Powers Chairman then that each
member of the Committee be impowered and Directed to write
to the Several Towns in their respective regiments in the
Name of and Behalf of this Committee, Requesting them to meet
and Organise there Companies as soon as may be, and that being
done the members of Committees for the Several regiments
to Call together their officers of the Several Companies for the
Purpose of Orginising the regiments agreable to martial
order. Done in Committee at Pelham.
