came in said they had been up Country at work
we asked them if they did not belong to Shays
army they sd No they sd that Lincoln's men
had come and drove out Shays we Lived almost
a Mile from public road heard no more
untill about sunset a young man one of our neighbors
came in with 21 men armed with Guns and [?]
who belonged to Lincolns army and wanted to be taken
in they were very much fatigued they had traveled
all Night had neither slept nor eat since the
day before we were glad to see them I never [?]
victuals more willingly in my live they were [?]
cooking for themselves but my Father told them
they should be to supper he had
long expecting [?] to be a prisoner of Shays.

Shays army were scattered over the Town a
they happened to find a house they entered by force[?]
or without Leave and were cooking their breakfastt
when Lincolns army came as unexpected as a thief
in the night they had no centrys or scouting
parties to give intelligence Lincolns Light
Infantry rode round in small parties
one horseman by the Name of Bradshaw was
alone and disarmed 20 and 30 Shays men at a time
so it was with them they gave up their guns
and ran off in all directions and made for
home as fast as they could excepting Shays and some
of the Leaders who absconded for a while.

The General Court the next session granted
a pardon on taking an oath of allegiance to the
Government and that animosity immediately died
away soon after the Plan of the convention
for framing the Constitution was adopted
